Norwescon: Full suitcases

Okay, so I'm not nearly as clothes-obsessed as
icprncs, but I do love dressing up, and Norwescon is the most intense opportunity I have to do so all year. That said, here's what I'm packing and when I'm wearing it:
Norwescon Packing List
1. BDUs, 2 black tshirts (plain, Bauhaus), black sweater, combat boots
2. poet shirt, velvet floofy shirt, vinyl pants, riding boots
3. kilt, kilt belt, sporran & strap, 2 pair hose & flashes
4. "goth whites" - pants, tux shirt, vest, cravat, stick pin, cuff links
5. gold lamé tux, purple shirt, red tie
6. Khaki shirt & chinos (for character), tweed jacket (if IC formal event), character sheet, item cards
7. regular belt & shoes; 4 pair underwear, 4 pair socks; pajamas; silk bathrobe (packs really small)
8. PDA, phone, camera, wallet, house key in wallet, grooming kit, box of Emergen-C packets, aspirin
9. Garment bag, whichever suitcase will fit the boots
Buy before con:
orange tie, green shoes, toothpaste & shaving gel for grooming kit
Buy at con:
sgian dhu, brass/bronze kilt pin
What to wear:
Thursday eve - whatever I wear to work that day
Friday day - BDUs, combats, tshirt, possibly sweater
Friday evening - goth whites
Saturday day - kilt, combats, & poet shirt or sweater, depending on temp in hotel
Saturday evening (Cam game) - khaki trousers & shirt, combats, and if the IC event is formal or dressy then the tweed jacket. (No, Camsters, I'm not playing Reggie. :-)
Saturday night - vinyl, poofy shirt, riding boots (a repeat of last year, true, but I'll be hanging with Gwen & Zanne, who both plan to be in full vinyl; also, I don't want to risk drinks spilling on the kilt)
Sunday day - gold tux, purple shirt, red or orange necktie, green shoes
Sunday evening (for "magical night" at the Merc) - kilt, combats, poet shirt
Um. Wow. Now watch: I'll forget my toothbrush.

Kilt
Date: 2002-03-20 09:55 pm (UTC)It's a vintage Argyll & Sutherland British Army kilt (same tartan as the Black Watch). It's supposed to arrive any day now... I've also acquired a sporran, kilt hose and flashes, so as I said all I need is a sgian dhu (the little sock knife) and a kilt pin.
Plans for this weekend are up in the air. It all depends on how much sewing I get done tonight and tomorrow, and whether I get over this throat cold.

Date: 2002-03-20 10:01 pm (UTC)Oh, and by the way, I believe that gold lame on Sunday morning at a con is grounds for justifiable homicide. Just a friendly warning. :P
